Mission Statement
S³ Labs is dedicated to exploring the vocal hygiene, biomechanics, and artistry of singers in -core genres (i.e., hardcore, metalcore, and deathcore). Through research, education, and hands-on creative practice, the lab investigates how harsh vocals are produced, sustained, and protected, while making this knowledge accessible to students and artists. Beyond scholarship, S³ Labs offers an immersive introduction to the music, culture, and community surrounding extreme vocal performance, equipping students with the tools to scream safely, coach and perform with confidence, and develop practical skills in recording and mixing harsh vocals.
